Assassin’s Creed Unity Pc Game Review

Looks beautiful, plays well, main story is short and sweet, detective mysteries are fun and congruent, Paris side stories are typical Assassin’s-Creed awesome with cameos by historical figures, Multiplayer is dead so good luck if you wanted to play this online, but co op missions are great fun on single player too.

I bought Assassin’s Creed Unity in 2016 so did not experience bugs or eyes without a face, although parkour navigation isn’t fully solved yet, but that’s par for the course on all Assassin’s Creed games (getting stuck on random chairs or corners being the most annoying).

I liked it as much as Black Flag, with the only thing missing being the better sailor songs, because the Café hymns just aren’t as good, 9/10

Another Review

I finally bought Assassins Creed Unity when it was on sale for € 15 and this is a worthy price. I was worried about performance and glitches, but so far I have been running it in Win 10 in Win 7 compatibility mode without any problems.

My laptop is a Gigabyte PW25v2 and I have been playing in ultra on 720p. (My TV doesn’t go higher) It’s been very stable and playable.

The game itself, I am still a fan of the AC flavor. I know some people have tired of it, but not me. This game uses a new engine since the previous games and it’s a really beautiful looking game. The animations are great as well. I am amazed by the number of NPC’s in the streets, even though you see the same ones repeated so often.

I enjoyed the pirating in previous games, but I also love the huge city to run around in. This time around it’s no longer possible to kill a horde of enemies. When you are spotted, they come after you fast and hard. In enemy territory the alarm bell is sound and you better run.

I am not a fan of the levelling system, as it always becomes weird where you overlevel for some areas, etc. Levelling is done with money and gear basically. But this is something that is not yet solved in open world games where you are levelling up and not exclusive to AC. I like that they are taking a new approach.

  • I think the story behind the game is interesting, so is the setting.
But I’m having a REALLY hard time with the movement. Since usually when you press forward your character goes forward, in this game he jumps um, down, sideways or doesn’t move at all. This is just a learning thing, but it’s very annoying at start.
That’s my next critisism: The game is advertised as “open world” and that you may play the missions in different order. Well the first hour of the game I was stuck in liniear, boring missions where the movement allmost made me cry.
A truly beatiful game (if you have a REALLY powerful GPU see above) and I’ll probably continue playing it once I calm down 🙂
