Layers of Fear is developed and produced under the banner of Bloober Team. It is released in Feb 2016.
Layers of Fear is a horror game set in the mind of a mad painter. An artist is seeking to finish his masterpiece, and your sanity is the required sacrifice. The premise Layers of Fear has echoes of Bioshock’s Sander Cohen to it, but the 19th.century environments and colorful psychedelic twists promise something quite different.
Inspired by “the masterpiece paintings from past centuries” Layers of Fear will apparently offer “deep insight into the madness that entwines a human being”, which I think means it’ll be quite scary and a bit weird, but hopefully in interesting ways that mess with the environment. Supposedly “each turn of the camera may change the look of your surroundings”.
It’s out soon, on August 27, and is made by Bloober Team, who previously created another first person creep-’em-out called Acrophobia, named after an anxiety disorder “characterized by a morbid fear of being seen or stared at by others.” Sounds promising. Here are the first screenshots of Layers Of Fear.

Layers of Fear Pc Game pc game Review:
Horror games have always been a hit-or-miss for me. Jump scares and less-than-stellar stories have ruined the genre for me, but Layers of Fear looked interesting and had good reviews. Merited at least me trying and, if it was terrible, returning.
Let me tell you how glad I am that I bought this. I purchased back when it was just released into Early Access and it was superb. There wasn’t the full story or the full game, but there was enough to get me very interested.
For starters, let’s talk about how it compares to other games in the genre. I recently played SOMA and found this one to be much better; while there was nothing literally hunting you down, there was still a sense of urgency when the wife is around. You know she isn’t here to hug you. Layers of Fear also has better level design in the sense of not giving you real safe areas to backtrack to; for the most part, you enter a new room and you’re stuck there until you progress.
The story is really good too. I was dreading to see how they’d end it but they definitely pulled it off.
